Relevant standards for medical protective clothing
In terms of packaging and marking of protective shoes and clothing products, Chinese standards, American NFPA 1999 and European Union standards have made more comprehensive and strict provisions.
China’s GB 19082-2009 technical requirements for disposable medical protective clothing stipulates that protective clothing is composed of hooded jacket and trousers, which are divided into one-piece structure and split structure. It is not suitable for reusable protective clothing, and stipulates the indexes such as flame retardancy, water exposure grade, electric charge tightness, fracture elongation and waterproof of medical protective clothing.
The protective clothing applicable to NFPA 1999 standard can be divided into disposable and reusable, including split and conjoined work clothes and clothes used by patients. In addition to the conventional physical strength performance, flame retardant performance and other indicators, the standard also requires an overall test, and the isolation layer and joint shall pass the liquid and microbial penetration test.
The European Union’s en 14126-2003 “performance requirements and test methods of protective clothing and anti infection protective clothing” is applicable to reusable and limited use protective clothing, but it is not suitable for surgeons and patients who want to avoid cross infection during operation. The joints of protective clothing shall meet the strength requirements in en 14325. The whole set of protective clothing is divided into 6 categories according to the protection performance. From type 1 to type 6, the smaller the number, the higher the protection; The recommended type is medical protective belt (type b), and the recommended type is medical protective belt (type b).
Therefore, the key indicators of medical protective clothing testing are liquid barrier performance, mainly including water permeability, moisture permeability, synthetic blood penetration resistance and water contamination level. In addition, there are determination of breaking strength and elongation at break, determination of filtration efficiency, analysis of flame retardant performance, analysis of antistatic performance and so on.
